So have you ever had something huge you were looking forward to that you just find any excuse to countdown too? Well, my countdown from today is 7 weeks and 6 days! When that date gets here (Sept 11th) I will find out if I am accepted as an officer candidate for the USAF. How crazy is my countdown fever? I have exactly 38 days of work left until I find out.
Now why is the acceptance so important to me besides the leaving? Because it will signal the direction my life is going to go for the next few decades and which career I plan on pursuing for my life and it is ultimately the date that I begin my professional life.
Now between then and now I have started a journey of hard work to be physically where I want to be in order to succeed through Basic/OTS at whatever date they want to send me whether soon or later (hopefully sooner than later). I plan on getting myself into as close as peak physical shape as I have been since early college/high school. And so far with the help of some great friends on a Facebook group I helped create I have no excuse not to get where I want to be and beyond.
My husband is applying as an officer for the Air Force as well. But his recruiter told him that he wouldn't find out until December. I am hoping the best for you and your family. We are excited and nervous for this new journey.
