Year of Preparation

Wow it's been a long time since I wrote a blog post. Well a long time but with a lot that has gone on since my last post. Biggest thing that happened last year was me getting through basic military training and technical school to join the USAF Reserves. And late last year we learned we are expecting our third child and it will be our first girl!!!

So this year is being dubbed the Year of Preparation. We are starting to get everything lined up ready to go for her arrival in Mid April. And although it sounds like a broken record we are preparing my packet of forms and information again to be considered for the Air Force Officer program again later this month. So we're going to require lots of patience the rest of this year.

It's funny when you start to start the family and age through the years to look back and see how much things have changed. At first you don't want to think about changes or maybe even ignore them. But then you stop and look and its quite fascinating. When in college; priorities were along the lines of school, parties, social interaction and maybe throw in a job. Well looking to my priorities now they go something like this; wife and kids, employment, employment advancement, hobbies and social interaction. And even to break it down further even hobbies are different than they used to be. It used to be, come home from work or school and plop down on the couch and play some Xbox 360 or maybe some WoW (after I met my wife). And then you look to today, and not only have I gotten into woodworking and furniture building but as far as games its almost become a deal I have to plan out time to play them (if I can find any time). My main priorities of family time come before all and always will. But when you throw in the addition of a baby girl who already has me wrapped around her finger and has yet to be born, that "free time" decreases by the day sometimes it seems. And the funny part is for the most part I don't care because I love the world that me and my wife have created with our children,

So enjoy where you are in life whether you are still in that school mode or the single life. Whichever track of life you are in enjoy it and when you get to another point in your life you will always have great memories to look back on.
