A Goal to Shoot For:

For those who have known me throughout my college years, I always had a goal that I never attained but always tried. I have wanted to get into shape since I gained the Freshman 15 and have had issues with the commitment needed to achieve this goal.

So with two sons now, I want to get into shape and live a healthier lifestyle so when they are older that is the only style they will know and will not be a part of the obesity statistics. So I have needed more motivation to start and keep going and I think I have found it.

On September 22nd I will be taking part in the B-58 Hustle 5K Race in Hesston, KS in order to support the Kansas Aviation Museum. It is for a great cause and it gives me a huge goal to work for. If I can achieve this goal I will be on the track I have been sitting by since I left high school.

What's with Time?

I would like to think I have learned a great life lesson over the past few weeks about what every person's life is measured on. The answer, is time. Now stop and think about it before you say I am wrong; yes I know everyone wants more money or better stuff but what does it take to get those? Time. Others will say no, knowledge is the key to how a person is viewed in life. But what do you have to spend in order to get the knowledge, time to learn that knowledge presented to you.

Our lives are measured in time wherever we look, from how long it take to get that project done at work to what time is the next party to what time do the kids have to be to soccer practice. It also seems to be the thing I have been running out of the most lately; I have found myself laying down at night or thinking the next morning about all the things that I didn't get done the previous day because I ran out of time.

I personally think in the long run every human being's life on Earth is measured in time, first how long they lived it and second what they did with it.Everyone does something with their time, whether it be wasting it away on a Saturday afternoon to working hard at an idea they had to create a multi-million dollar business that will never stop supporting them or their children. Everyone uses time and time favors no one.

With that said, I am going to get off here and spend the rest of my lunch time finishing my lunch...

My number...

My number means a lot to me and the number is 235.2. That's my starting weight for my 90 day challenge, which I started on Friday. It means a lot to me because I think this will be the actual solution to my ever starting and stopping diet stuff. So far I am loving the shakes, so many way to make each day unique and tasty. And I'm happy to report I am already down 4 lbs from Friday. Next week I plan to start working out again and hopefully with Vi on the diet side it'll help me stick to working out better. And then finally I can feel comfortable with myself, because how can I expect any new employer from liking what I can provide if my self confidence is lower because I don't like who I see completely when I look in the mirror everyday.

The First...

The Gentleman Dad; its a great way to describe what I am striving to be. Much like in college when I was striving to be the True Gentleman, I am striving to carry that on to my next lifelong position of dad. This is the beginning of hopefully several journeys in the upcoming months, years and decades that friends and family alike will remember for the rest of their lives. This is my first post, but it won't be my last...
